This is an original painting by Mr Hooper of Nashville, Tennessee. It is a depiction of a robotic Santa Claus. As most people are aware, Santa has a huge job of delivering toys throughout the entire world and for many years Santa (dba The North Pole Corp. LLC) has employed substitute Santas. Most people have seen the human, or human-like Santa at the local shopping mall, but obviously this is not the real Santa. The actual Santa travels very little and prefers to stay close to the main operation in the North Pole. The shopping mall Santas are complicated mix of franchisees and limited licensed actors, but you are probably already aware of that. However, there was a lesser-known group of substitute Santas that were actually robots designed by the East Nashville Robot Works and served for only one season in the mid-1960's. This group of robots were known as"Mechanical Substitute Santas."
