"The Dirt Road (To Orlinda, Tennessee)"
20" x 16" x 1.5"
Acrylic paint on wood
Framed and ready to hang
This is an original painting by Mr Hooper of Nashville, Tennessee. It is an active scene with many elements. There is a bear, a tiger, a leprechaun and a chihuahua gathered around a mailman. You will notice that all these characters are along a dirt road that twist throughout the scene. You'll notice that there is a small post office in the background. There is a birdhouse on the tree with a ghost bird emerging. If you notice the birdhouse closely you will see the kanji symbol for house. In the foreground is a body of water. There's a rubber duck floating in the body of water. You can see through the water to the rocks beneath the surface. There's also an eyeball in the water.
In this scene, the mailman is the most important character. One could imagine that he is sorting through the letters to deliver to all these other characters. One may also imagine that this mailman has been working this job for a very long time because his long gray beard. So you can probably guess that he quite familiar with this collection of characters.
