This is an original painting by Mr Hooper of Nashville Tennessee. It is a depiction of a bear wearing a Civil War era suit or uniform. The bear is posed with a stone pillar while he smokes a corn-cob pipe. This painting was inspired by a photograph of Rutherford B. Hayes, former president of the United States.
This frame was found at the flea market in Nashville, Tennessee and it is at least 100 years old. It shows some signs of age, but it adds so much to the painting.
